Looking for another album of fast, no frills, pissed off hardcore? Switzerland's Solid Ground should serve you pretty well then, as the band plays just that over the course of 11 tracks in the vein of early Champion and Bridge 9's otherwise lesser knowns. And like a similarly Champion-influenced recent release in Sinking Ships' Meridian, it seemingly combines two EPs to offer a pseudo full-length of sorts.

In 21 minutes we're given a requisite number of pick slides, gang chants, and f-bombs necessary to convey the tension vocalist Martin Schaub has let built up inside himself. Solid Ground doesn't seem to offer much in the way of variety or originality, but simultaneously it doesn't quite seem to be the point. Still, the band and album would certainly benefit from a healthy dose of either, though some of their guitar work has its creative moments ("You Know It's True").

Get Used to It is a worthy addition to any hardcore kid's playlist, but hopefully the band will develop into something much more than that.
