Rebuilt [7 inch] (2008)

Silly Girl

Northwest hardcore has been hit hard in recent times, with one of its most important contributors seemingly breaking up every year (Champion in 2006; Go It Alone in 2007; Sinking Ships in 2008). Rebuilt pick up the torch for this style with their debut self-titled 7".

They definitely sound like those three bands, but probably more the latter two. They've got the raspy, coarse delivery and that certain, emotive guitar tone. Frontman Jesse Malinowski has pretty typical but personal lyrics, which tend to be about fucking up or the search for self-improvement. At one moment, he actually seems to question the benefit of foster homes, as he asks in "Benson," "How can the courts just appoint a home?"

If you're sorely missing this sound, it's hard to go wrong with this 7".
