Continuing one of the more intensive internet campaigns in support of their new album Vheissu, Thrice has launched a "trailer" for the record. The one minute Quicktime trailer can be found in three sizes, with the largest coming in at 35mb. You can check them out here: Small, Medium and Large.
The band also recently posted the fourth of their ongoing Podcast series which includes clips from tracks 10-11 and discussion from the band. Previous marketing efforts have included a digitally locked media file, registration required song samples and the aforementioned podcasts. All this is in support of the album, their sophomore release for Island and follow up to The Artist in the Ambulance as well as their recent DVD+CD release If We Could Only See Us Now. It is due out October 18th and the band has enlisted Underoath, The Bled and Veda for the support tour that will visit the US and Canada. Island Records (70 comments)

I'm officially sick of this band and I haven't even heard the record yet. 2+ Replies

I'm really dreading this album. I understand how bands modify their sound as they get older but I predict a huge letdown on this album. I agree though, the Thrice posts are getting to be a little too many. 2+ Replies

a goddamn trailer? is this cd coming with a dvd that i dont know about? thrice if i see you on the street i am going to force you to listen to all your podcasts and trailers and thirty second clips and make you register for shit a half dozen times you assholes. see how you like it. i know no one has forced me to do this shit so you can just leave that argument up your nose with a rubber hose. i just want to make sure they know how homosexual their hype campaign is. and you can just leave that homophobic attitude at the door also people, i know i wrote homosexual, and its cause i know for a fact that thrice's publicty agent is a gay. he hit on me last night - jones the bones - stevejones8770@yahoo.com - serenity now! serenity now! - you guys seen serenity? it was pretty good. i was expecting bad 4+ Replies

the video of this trailer actually is for the music video image of the invisible, which is pretty weird since the music playing is red sky

Bands used to promote their new albums by releasing an mp3 from it in advance.

I just seen Thrice at the Irvine Events Center and they were fucken horrible. They should practice and get a new sound guy before they go on tour. Sad to see Underoath blow them away. 3+ Replies

Marketing makes me feel ill. I hope all of you people who actually go out and look at this stuff feel like the disease ridden consumer prostitutes you are. I'm on the fence about whether this will be good or not. I'm pretty sure its gonna suck, but I'm still holding onto some hope simply because I used to like Thrice so much. At least I can depend on The Constantines! 2+ Replies

I got this and its not worth even a hint of the hype that they are throwing at us.

Well at least the song titles are kind of cool....they are no "Knife Blood Nightmare", but they at least SOUND like they could be interesting. Im really reaching. Man that image of the invisible song sucked...
Testiclese (October 8, 2005)
ive listend to it a few times and its not that bad... ill probobly get tired of it pretty quick though
Someone (October 8, 2005)
No album could live up to all they hype they're generating for this. This album isn't even very interesting. Most of the songs are pretty boring.

Who fuckin cares. Propagandhi's new album is out the same day. Everyone should care about that. 2+ Replies

Atlantic, For Miles, Hold Fast Hope, and Music Box are really good songs, rarely do I like it when bands try a new direction, but this sounds good. It's a much more atmospheric album, a lot less rock than their previous efforts, but still a very cohesive album. Doesn't make my top 5 of the year, but it's certainly not the failure that everyone seems to make it out to be. The hype for it is really annoying, though. Just give us a couple of MP3s on a myspace page and leave it at that. | Features
