No plans to release more unreleased Nirvana material, says Novoselic

Former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic recently sat down with former Daily World Publisher and Editor John Hughes recently for an oral history, which was included as part of the launch of the Seattle secretary of state's Legacy Project. The 89-page interview was released here on the state's website.

Of note, was Krist's statement that fans should not expect to hear any music from the band emerging from the vaults. However, he notes that there is a great deal of video footage that has not been released yet, but did not indicate whether there are any plans to release that material. The last Nirvana studio song released was "You Know You're Right", released on 2002's With The Lights Out box set.

Novoselic currently hosts a local radio show and performs with influential punk act Flipper.

If there were one advertisement you could pull off the org, what would it be?

I'm going with Japanese Motors.

Now, I've been fortunate enough to have never heard this band, so that's not what I'm complaining about. The problem is that it sends the wrong message. Like, let's say for example that the college intern who wears Ed Hardy shirts and has a faux hawk walks by and sees a Japanese Motors advert. Imagine his surprise. So next time I'm forced to make meaningless small talk with this goon, he might bring up how much ass Japanese Motors kicks. That shit is embarrassing for all parties involved.

Why flog a dead horse? Let Nirvana go already.....it was a fantastic band, yes, but they technically weren't pioneers (well, unless you consider making an underground sound mainstream to be pioneering.) I'll remember the band fondly and the great show they put on.
