Lollapalooza 2009 with Rise Against, Gaslight Anthem, Lou Reed, Beastie Boys, Tool

Lollapalooza has announced the initial lineup for the 2009 edition of the festival. The event will be headlined by Depeche Mode, Tool, The Killers, Jane's Addiction, Beastie Boys and Kings of Leon. Some notable acts include Rise Against, TV On The Radio, Vampire Weekend, The Decemberists, Neko Case, Animal Collective, Band of Horses, Arctic Monkeys, Constantines, Ben Folds, Coheed and Cambria, Deerhunter, Gaslight Anthem, Heartless Bastards, Kaiser Chiefs, Kevin Devine, Living Things, Manchester Orchestra, No Age and Portugal. The Man.

It all takes place August 7th to 9th in Grant Park in Chicago, IL. You can find the full lineup here.

I loved "The Unraveling," but that was their only release that was consistently good. Every album since then has had a few pretty good songs, but mostly bad songs. It's also weird seeing them on a giant stage with a six foot barricade in front of them now. A band like AFI, to me, has the stage presence to make a live show great with with those restraints. When you take the crowd proximity/interaction away from Rise Against, it just didn't work for me.

Ambition
Xabi Alonso is also of the opinion that Liverpool must take maximum points from their remaining fixtures if they are to overhaul United at the summit.

"We have six games to go and we cannot afford to drop any points if we want to give ourselves a chance because United have an advantage and we want to close the gap on them," he told the club's official website.

"We know that it will not be easy to win the league but we will keep on trying and if we win all of our games then we will see what happens.

"United are favourites because they are in the best position but it is up to us to keep on doing our job and hopefully we will keep on challenging right up until the end of the season."

I hate trying to defend Tool against people because I can't properly explain my perspective on them. I mostly just feel like I can understand why someone wouldn't like them just because they don't like that kind of music, but to say they suck or to outright hate them is just kind of unfounded.
