Seattle's The Lashes have signed to Columbia Records. They announced this on their website earlier this month:

the end of 2004 brought a big change for The Lashes. As of December 1st, your friends The Lashes became COLUMBIA RECORDING ARTISTS! That's right, we sold our souls in hopes of becoming the next matchbox 20 or third eye blind. We've dreamed of selling out for years and finally we have. We have spent all of our time since buying "bling" and forgetting our friends. It's been totally AWESOME! Columbia will be putting out our as-yet untitled full-length album sometime in the spring or summer. Details on the record as far as tracklisting and other info will be revealed later.

The band released an EP titled The Stupid Stupid last year on Lookout Records. It was reported that they were recording a full length for Lookout with John Goodmanson (Sleater-Kinney, The Catheters, Vaux, The Von Bondies) this past September.
