Reprise has unveiled plans to reissue some of Green Day's independent releases on vinyl this March. Both 39/Smooth and Kerplunk! will be reissued on March 24, 2009.

CD reissues of the albums were released in 2007. These vinyl releases are some of the first vinyl versions of the albums since Warner/Reprise officially took over the band's back catalogue after Green Day pulled their catalogue from Lookout! in 2005.
