Well, there's been a lot of news buzzing around the Vagrant camp, with the majority of it being about the little-known plans for Vagrant America 2. After talking with owner Rich, he has confirmed that the lengthy tour will *not* be happening until spring of 2003. Why not until then? Because Dashboard Confessional, Saves The Day, and Alkaline Trio all plan on going into the studio this November for individual spring releases. As for the fest itself, here's the words straight from Rich's mouth:
"It will most likely be in larger venues--convention centers & indoor buildings at fairgrounds---wherever makes the most sense size-wise but most importantly where we don't have to charge ridiculous ticket prices (as is the case in most of the arenas in the U.S. which are prohibitively expensive places to do shows.)"
He also talked about the lineup for the shows:
"The majority of the roster will be on the tour at one point or another. There will be a core of 6 bands that are on the whole tour with other bands joining for legs of it. The weekend shows will be up to 10 bands (we can start earlier in the day and have a festival type thing on Saturdays & Sundays)."
But Vagrant fans, don't fret - you'll still see a lot of the roster on tour this fall. According to the label, Saves The Day will do their final tour of the year in October, as will Dashboard Confessional [who will be joined by Hot Rod Circuit]. Face To Face will be doing a mainly midwest/Canadian tour, as well. As soon as we get any confirmation on these tourdates, we'll bring them to you.
