With Go Down Under released earlier this year, Me First and The Gimme Gimmes look to be in the final stages of another release for 2011. Though the details on this new recording are relatively scant so far, Fat Mike said this:

New Gimmes record is almost done, and let me just say that its like nothing we've ever done before. I don't know if thats a good thing or not.

The Foo Fighters, who share Me First guitarist Chris Shiflett, begin their summer touring next Tuesday so presumably we can expect recording to complete before then.

The band's last proper studio album was 2006's Love Their Country.
