So Vinnie from Less Than Jake just emailed me the longest band update in existance, and I feel compelled to share the whole thing with you:
"So, it's been a crazy busy summer for LESS THAN JAKE, a month long tour in Europe, then a month long tour in the United States, and then flying back over to the UK for the Reading and Leeds festivals, and while doing all that we were writing the songs for our new record "ANTHEM". Did I say crazy busy? I guess I should've said I haven't been sleeping much, I haven't been home at all, and I've been having an amazing time. I haven't had coffee in awhile, I haven't had a cigarette in close to a year, and I've been busier in the last three months than I have in the last year. I'm Vinnie, I'm a collector nerd, and this is LESS THAN JAKE."
To read the rest, which talks about some of the strangest limited edition items I've ever heard of, as well as a new live album, the Pezcore re-release, and the band starting on their new album entitled "Anthem," click on READ MORE.

First off, let me say thanks to the following bands for letting us share the stage with them over the last few months, big ups from the dirty south go out to: Guttermouth, Whipersnapper, YellowCard, Dynamite Boy, Big Wig, the Pietasters, The Breeders, Sugarcult, the Teen Idols, Reunion Show, Andrew WK, Green Day, A, No Doubt, and Frenzal Rhomb. Ok, with that out of the way let me say that it never ceases to amaze me the support that we get not only in the US but in the UK and Europe, this summer was the most amazing of our bands 10 years together, whether it was the kids going so crazy at the Forum in London that the balcony was bending, or playing Roseland in New York City and seeing the whole floor of 3500 people jumping together, or playing the Leeds festival and having a 10,000 person circle pit go around the sound booth. So with that said, thank you for supporting LTJ, if I could I'd buy you all a cup of my favorite coffee and shoot the shit about how kick ass you guys are..Oh yeah, I have a few pictures I'll post of us at the Reading and Leeds festivals and JR has a tour diary of our Europe tour, so go check it out at lessthanjake.com.

Making the collector nerd say "please stop- I'm going broke" :

For those of you who didn't know we had two different versions of our wacky wobbler bobbly head, both were limited to 500 a piece, they both had glow in the dark skull head, one had a silver suit and one had a gold suit, both looked great and are long gone. Check Ebay if you want to buy one for hundreds of dollars but if I were you I'd go buy a cup of coffee, maybe go to see a movie, go buy a Dillenger Four cd and the new Pietasters "turbo" cd instead. Oh yeah for the ultimate in nerdisms we did a LTJ zombie shriner bobbly head, limited it to only 40 (yes I said 4 - 0!) and gave them out for free to kids who had Less Than Jake tattoos. Are we insane?…yes we are. So, here's a list of ultra-limited things that are coming out in the next few months:

Pezcore vinyl : No Idea records will be doing the vinyl as always and will be doing vinyl colors to match the flavors of pez. Of course these are going to be limited.

Pezcore picture disk: this will have pictures of mine and Rogers personal Pez collections and probably limited to 500.

The Cereal Box : Ok, we were supposed to have this on the last US tour but because of an art production mistake had to get pushed back, What the hell is the cereal box you ask, well this will be the best thing since our pie tin - no joke, I personally put my nerdy seal of approval on it. Here's what's in it:
- represses of our first four 7"'s, Smoke spot, unglued, pez kings, and R-N-R pizzeria all with colors that match the marshmallow pieces in lucky charms
- a mini glow in the dark head bobbler not available anywhere else
- a collector shirt and pin
these will be all packaged in a full size LTJ cereal box, if you collect our stuff you will need and want this. Seriously.

"Reaching for the other shore" a.k.a. our live record in the UK!

In November, Golf records will be releasing " Reaching for that other shore" which is the title of our live record, songs will be taken from all of our old records and was recorded at a few festivals over in the UK, We love the UK and this record is for them and I'd like to say while we're on the subject of the UK "cheers" to our friends over there and to everyone who supports our sorry jet lagged asses like the magazines Kerrang! and Big Cheese and people over at Primary and Golf/Plastichead. If you have a friend over there tell them to buy you a cd - if you don't its time to find one. This will only be available over there.

Pezcore - remixed and remastered!!!! out OCTOBER 1st!!

Our first and by some considered our finest record Pezcore will be coming out OCTOBER 1st, This release will be on my label FUELED BY RAMEN and is celebrating our tenth year as a band. This is remixed, remastered and has new artwork with more pictures in it than on your grandmothers night stand. The artwork was done by Brian Archer who is also the person who was responsible for lots of NOFX artwork, You can buy this online right now over at fueledbyramen.com I love this record and the new mix on the old songs is ten times better than my favorite burrito place and that's saying a lot . I know some of you will disagree but its our birthday present to ourselves so we deserve it. By the way - Happy f@#k!ng birthday to us.

ANTHEM a.k.a. our new record

In a few weeks we'll be going into the studio to record our new record, for those of you who caught us over the last few tours got to some of the new songs like, Plastic cup politics, Upwards war and the down-turned cycle, short fuse burning, ghosts of you and me, and ASAOK. A few days ago we met with Rob Cavallo and we decided to do the new record with him producing it. Rob produced Green Day's records since Dookie so we're stoked he could and wanted to work on ANTHEM with us because we love those records. We've also started to work on details on getting video clips and audio clips of us in the studio recording the new record up on our site.In the next week we'll have this ironed out and ready to go so you can watch us yell at each other and watch me curse while I do drum tracks and listen to bits of new songs as they get done. I think this will be way cool..
