Legendary metal/hard rock pioneers Black Sabbath have reunited, reports Billboard. The band, which formed in 1968, will feature the pre-1978 lineup of the band with frontman Ozzy Osbourne. Along with planning a new tour, the band is promising a new album for 2012.
The band - along with Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin - are credited with launching metal and hard rock and have proven vastly influential over the decades. While Osbourne had a very successful solo career, in recent years he was best known for the reality show The Osbournes from 2002-2005 and his on-again-off-again metal festival, Ozzfest.
