Eric Ellis, former guitarist for Bury Your Dead, is currently on trial in Florida, after he and others were arrested for violating federal racketeering laws in early 2011. According to the Florida Times-Union Ellis was reportedly a member of a gang called "The Guardians," who were responsible for several high-profile crimes in the area, including home invasions and bank robberies.

One former member who has agreed to testify for prosecutors stated that the gang was inspired by the popular television show "Sons of Anarchy."
