Chicago, IL's Sanawon have released a unique project through Quote Unquote Records. The project, entitled The Promise, is a five song music video documentary about lead singer Jenny Choi's parents' lives as immigrants. Choi interviewed her parents as they looked through a photograph book of their lives. The story of Choi's parents are intertwined with five new Sanawon songs which are each accompanied by a video created by their drummer, Philip Stone, with assistance from directors Johnny McGuire and Jienan Yuan of Actually, Records. Josh Caterer of The Smoking Popes and Adam Pfahler of Jawbreaker appear on select songs.
