Blink-182 cancels London show due to illness

Blink-182 has cancelled their London, UK performance at the near 5,000 seat capacity Brixton Academy. The promoters explain that the cancellation is due to illness:

Unfortunately Mark Hoppus was taken ill at the end of last night's show and has been diagnosed with bronchitis, laryngitis and sinusitis. This is the last thing the band want to do but on doctors advice today it has been highly advised that Mark cannot perform and the show can't go ahead. Regrettably a rescheduled date cannot not be arranged and customers are advised to contact their point of purchase for a refund.

Bronchitis is one of the more severe inflammations of the respiratory tract and infections can sometimes lead to pneumonia if untreated. This is the second respiratory illness suffered by the band in just a few months after drummer Travis Barker had an emergency tonsillectomy and was forced to cancel their May US dates. Luckily for Mark, this show was the to be the final date on the band's nearly two month trek through Europe.
