Velvet Underground release 36 minute live version of “Sister Ray”

Today, Polydor Records is releasing a four-disc set of live The Velvet Underground recordings called The Matrix Tapes. The recording is taken from an 18-night residency that the band played in San Francisco. One of the tracks is a 36-minute version of the famous garage rock/proto-punk freak out "Sister Ray." Check that out at the AV Club.
