Ron Reyes to (mostly) retire from music
by

As you may know, punk rock legend Ron Reyes, who has played in Black Flag, Red Cross, Crash bang Crunch Pop, the Happy Tampons, and other bands has stated he is going to retire from live music for the time being. Currently, he plays guitar in the band Piggy, who plan to pack it in after two final gigs this weekend. Reyes says he may do an occasional live guest appearance or a feature spot on a studio recording. He also says he may release some demo material, but for the most part, plans to retire from live music. See his statement below. Punknews wishes this champion the best in his future endeavors. Ron Reyes:

"Goodbye Cruel World… Ok I admit that was a little dramatic. But I am retiring from live music and crawling back under my rock. About 5.5 years ago Doug Smith coaxed me out from early retirement and that led to 5 years with the best band and best bunch of people I have ever played with. Piggy will be playing out last two shows next weekend in Bellingham and Seattle then I'm gonna lay low indefinitely. You may be able to coax me out for a recording project or a guest live song here and there. But that's all folks. I will be doing some demo recordings and I may release some of that. But other than that I think I'm done. I will MISS PIGGY SOOOOOOO MUCH IT FUCKING HURTS. but I'll live. Love-On Ya."
