by

Linda Ramone, wife of Johnny Ramone of Ramones, has released the details for the 2016 Johnny Ramone tribute. The celebration coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Ramones debut album. The event takes place on July 24 at the Hollywood Forever cemetery. This year, there will be a screening of Rock n Roll High School, followed by a question and answer session with P.J. Soles (Riff Randell), Roger Corman, director Allan Arkush, and surprise guests.

The event will be hosted by Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols. Also, there will be a presentation of Ramones: It's Alive 1976-1996, a pop up gallery of Ramones and punk photography by Morrison Hotel Gallery. Lastly, there will be an exhibition of Metallica guitarist Kirk “Von” Hammett’s private collection of movie monster memorabilia. As you may know, Johnny Ramone famously collected vintage horror movie posters.
