As some (or many of you) may know by now, the Southern California DIY venue VLHS, run by Tim Burkert of Horror Squad with help from Marty Ploy of The Party's Over Productions and Aaron Kovacs of Lauren Records, will be closing down. The all-ages venue was opened in 2011 and has had many notable punk bands like ToyGuitar, PEARS, Red City Radio, AJJ, Joyce Manor, The Bombpops, Direct Hit!, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Caskitt, Horror Squad perform there.

The venue has announced one last show that has been titled The Vince Lombardi High School Class of 2017 Graduation, which will take place on July 8, 2017. Playing the event will be Toys That Kill, toyGuitar, Chillout (members of Hillary Chillton and Struckout performing Hillary Chillton songs), Horror Squad, Dudes Night (reunion), Tilt Wheel, Caskitt and more. You can find out more about the event here, plus you can read a statement from Lauren Records and you can find out more about the venue and its history on a recent episode of the Aaron Ohio Is For Lovers podcast below.

If you haven't heard, unfortunately the legendary VLHS will be closing its doors. Last night was the most moving night I have ever experienced, I could not stop crying. I feel so fortunate and thankful that so many people could participate and attend last night who have shared the same passion for the space over the years. A huge part of me feels like it is leaving with the warehouse, because it has seriously been everything to me. I love everyone involved with the space, that has supported the shows by going and all the bands that grew there and called it home. I will never be able to fully express my gratitude to Tim for changing the lives of so many people. Thank you for everything. -Lauren Records
