Shift is a face smasher. Straddling the atmospherics of Neurosis and the blocky strike of Converge, Axis conjure a decidedly dark hardcore record. As the band rampages through 12 curt tracks, there's a dedication to frantic destruction, but the band also is sure to focus on the intellect behind the rage.
