NME to end print magazine after 66 years

After 66 years as a weekly print publication, NME will stop producing the physical magazine. Although the digital version will continue, the magazine has had trouble with its physical format. The magazine became free in 2015, but stil struggled weith sustainability. Parent company Time Warner executive Paul Cheal, said, “We have also faced increasing production costs and a very tough print advertising market. Unfortunately we have now reached a point where the free weekly magazine is no longer financially viable. It is in the digital space where effort and investment will focus to secure a strong future for this famous brand.”
