Ottawa-via-Peterborough noise-punk duo Deathsticks premiered their new video for the song "Finger Food" today at Some Party. It's the first single from their upcoming four song 7" EP Deathsnacks, which is due out on April 27. Drummer / co-vocalist Laura Klinduch commented that "The song is about feeling insecure or inadequate about your place as an artist in the larger Canadian music community," adding that "No vinyl records were harmed in the making of this video." That's clearly a lie, as you can see below.

Deathsticks features guitarist Matt Post and drummer Laura Klinduch. The new EP follows a string of short-form releases, including a number of splits. 2016 saw the band participate in a four-way split 7" with Toronto's sardonic WLMRT, Montreal garage-punk group Nüshu, and the goth-styled Halifax-based Nightbummerz. Earlier the duo appeared on splits with Saint John punk four-piece Right Shitty and the politically charged Guelph two-piece Bullshit Hardcore Band. Deathsticks were also recently included on the second volume of The Famines' Pentagon Black paper compilation series. You can pre-order the new EP at Bandcamp.
