We’re happy to premiere a new song from Minnesota’s Desperate Acts. The trio weaves together the sandpaper melodies of the Gainesville sound with the more subtle stylings of many a Dischord Records band. Within those influences Desperate Acts crafts an identity of their own as three experienced musicians writing and playing punk music with a sense of maturity and sophistication.
What the band crafts on “Lazarus” are deceptively catchy hooks mixed with impressive and understated vocal melodies. The song will appear alongside another new track, “Lantern in Her Hand,” on the band’s upcoming EP which comes out this Friday. You can check out Desperate Acts at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn with Face To Face and PEARS on May 22nd. Get tickets for that here and check out the tune below!
