This year's nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been announced. You can check out the news on who's being considered here (Beatle George Harrison being the big name this year). Punk rock is represented again this year with nominations for the Sex Pistols and the Stooges. The Pistols were nominated in previous years but this is Iggy & the gang's first time up.

Ballots have been mailed to voting members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, the inductees should be announced in December. Artists are eligible to be inducted at least 25 years after their first record was released.
