NME is reporting that Libertine Pete Doherty was released from prison yesterday (October 8th) and rejoined his estranged band on stage the same night. As previously reported, Doherty was serving prison time after pleading guilty to burglary. He was arrested breaking into Carl Barat's apartment on July 25th while The Libertines were touring in Japan. Doherty only spent a month behind bars, the original sentence (reported here) was for 6 months. The show, to 200 fans in the Chatham, was the full band's first since Pete failed to show up for a European tour in May. No word on if Doherty is receiving treatment for his drug addition.

The October 14th issue of NME (UK) will feature an interview with Pete Doherty and Carl Barat about the incident and the band's current plans.
