Pitchfork Media reporting that Libertines co-frontman Pete Doherty is scheduled to release his first solo single through Rough Trade on April 12th. For Lovers is the product of Doherty's recent estrangement from the band (and by estrangement we refer to the whole robbery and jail-time fiasco). He's been performing recently under the alias Babyshambles from which numerous online bootlegs have circulated.

Last week the full Libertines played a suprise show after a Babyshambles gig to 200 fans packed into a small bar in North London. Their upcoming (and currently sold out) tour dates in the UK are below. They've also started work on their follow up to Up The Bracket. Carl Barat spoke with London's XFM radio "We've been writing in France… We haven't recorded a note yet, there's a lot of work to do, but yeah it's sounding good. It sounds like something I'd be happy to play to people, and I'm happy to listen to it. Is it similar to the last album? I dunno, I can't remember the last album."
