According to an update on their website, Sloppy Meateaters have reformed. One of the band's first recordings in two years is available on their SoundClick page. The story of the band's reformation (and the end of the post-SME project Under The Weather) was posted in the band's bio by the only founding member to return, Josh Chambers. Here's a bit of what went on:

It turned out that our label had hooked up a distribution deal with a Japanese major label and the UTW EP was just released in Japan. The EP sold over 2,000 copies in the first two weeks, and for a band our size this was jaw dropping, especially in a country we had never been to. This random event opened up a long lost communication between Rob Trisler, the head of Orange Peal, and myself… After a few months of brainstorming and letting all the new information sink in, we decided to fulfill to record another CD, but not as Under the Weather. That was a glitch in the system, a schizophrenic episode. We collectively decided to pick up where we had dropped off with Sloppy Meateaters. There are a few catches, John doesn't want to tour. He confessed that he never felt comfortable as a live performer, that his calling was writing and the recording process.

The new members who joined Chambers to reform the bands are Punch Drunk members Seth Smith, Lee Howell and Will Tallman (who was also played bass in SME/UTW). A new record is expected this year on Orange Peal Records.
