Ezra at Slowdance wrote us with the following bit of terrible news regarding Rescue:

Last night while returning from a show our friends in Rescue were in a terrible van accident. Their van rolled numerous times in the incident, and although the majority of them were not wearing their seat belts, miraculously there were no casualties.

Singer/guitarist Al Scheurman was thrown through a window and propelled from the van in the accident. He was airlifted to a local hospital and is currently there with a broken clavicle, some missing teeth, and some other ailments. Al is scheduled to have multiple surgeries of the next couple days. He is currently awake and responsive and in good spirits considering the seriousness of this situation, and the fact that he does not have health care.

The other members of the band were shaken-up and a little bruised but are fine. The same can not be said for their van, which is completely destroyed, as is much of their equipment. As it stands they are canceling all shows from this point until mid-August. Before then, we'll have more news on Al's condition, and hopefully some new shows to announce. If you want to wish the band well, please send an email to rescue@rescuedotcom.com

If any sort of account is set up to donate funds to help Al and the band get back on their feet, we'll let you know.

Rescue just released a brand new EP called Flamingo Minutes through Slowdance; it earned a solid four-and-a-half stars from us and is definitely worth your attention.
