Back with a vengeance, New Jersey melodic pop rock quintet Bedlight for Blue Eyes has taken all of their Passion, Insanity, and Rock N Roll, and multiplied it by one hundred. The band is set to release a new EP, entitled Wasting Time, available exclusively as a digital release on I–Tunes, on August 8th. The EP features brand new lead singer Danny Rinaldi, who is only 18, singing his heart out on the catchy title track, along with the song “Hindsight” which was only available on the Masters of Horror soundtrack, and Bedlight’s cover of “Livin’ on a Prayer,” which features guest vocals from Travis of Crash Romeo.

Bedlight, which Chord Magazine said “have the chops to succeed Thursday as New Jersey’s reigning sincere rock band, with a taste of left–of–center pop,” and the East Coast Rocker said is “the rebirth of Rock N Roll,” have returned, ready for a fresh start with a new vocalist and new guitarist, Dan Taylor. The band met Dan Taylor, originally from the band A Black Veil Affair, through connections in the local music scene. Of the change in line up, original guitarist Derek Weber says, “Dan was the backbone of his old band, and handled all of the promotion and marketing. He will make an excellent addition.”

Bedlight is ready to put their ideals in action, going back to the original mindset at the band’s inception. Weber: “When Itchy [Bishburg, drums], James [Granuzzo, bass], and I started the band, it was a group of close friends who were interested in playing music that we never got to see live. We are inspired by bands like Queen, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, the Scorpions, and Boston, and we want to bring back that arena–rock feeling with a new twist. Music today is so watered down, and we want to break through with innovation, instead of jumping on the bandwagon.” Of the new material they are working on, Weber comments, “We have such a solid line up in terms of musical talent. We are ready to break the mold, while keeping all of the original Bedlight aspects in tact.” The band will head into the studio when they are done with the new tour, with the confidence and assurance that the writing process will be a collaborative effort. “The first time around was a real learning experience. Our new music is going to focus much more on the song writing process.”

.Currently, Bedlight is on their first US tour with the new line–up, with good friends Roses are Red. Says Weber, “This tour has been a blast, and it was what we expected. Roses are Red share our good sense of humor and our light–hearted nature. Touring is about bringing back the good times. There is nothing to be screaming about when you are on the road having the time of your life.” Bedlight has always toured vigorously, and went out last year with a multitude of bands, including A Static Lullaby, Boys Night Out, Hawthorne Heights, Head Automatica, and Secret Lives of The Freemasons. These tours were in support of their debut album The Dawn, released this past August on Trustkill. The album was heralded by press, receiving feature and review coverage in AMP, Revolver, East Coast Rocker, Chord, and Alternative Press. “The Dawn is gleaming, gorgeous pop rock not far removed from At the Drive–In and Thursday,” said Outburn Magazine. Bedlight also appeared on a recent DVD release of the Taste Of Chaos tour and on the soundtrack to the recent cable TV series Masters Of Horror along side such bands as Avenged Sevenfold, Matchbook Romance and Armor For Sleep. Bedlight has a song on the recently released Punk Goes 90’s compilation (Fearless), and will be putting out a limited edition vinyl of their album on Textbook Music coming soon! Alternative Press said of Bedlight for Blue Eyes, “Expect world Domination,” and they are ready to do just that! Check for updates and tour news.
