Ramming Speed

Full Speed Ahead [7 inch] (2007)

Teenage Disco Bloodbath

As a young punker, I was excited by just about any band that sounded like NOFX. From clones that only lasted an album to their superior predecessors, NOFX served as a gateway of sorts.

Roughly 10 years later, Municipal Waste is serving a similar purpose. I am not a circle pit maniac, nor am I a crust warrior, but I am really enjoying thrashy songs about getting wasted and other cool stuff. I've dug back to bands like Napalm Death and Slayer while also enjoying records from newer dudes like Toxic Holocaust and A.N.S.

So, here's a band that sounds like they came from the `80s and…uh, I don't really know what I am talking about. I saw Ramming Speed last year at The Fest in someone's living room and it was fuckin' sweet. I found this 7″ of theirs the other day and it rules too. Four songs, including one about pizza and one about machines taking over. Competent production, colored vinyl, goofy artwork. Works for me.
