i-like-food (January 10, 2011)
Way to go Flatliners. Those dudes rock. Best record of the past two years.
revolutionjoe (January 10, 2011)
Nice to finally see The Stormy Petrel on a list, it's in my top 5 releases of the year. Really wouldn't have rated American Slang as number 1 though.
kelly_d (January 10, 2011)
Needs more Hostage Calm. That albums the most interesting thing I've heard since sliced bread.
levi-dolphin (January 10, 2011)
This is a good list just surprised some albums didnt make it from: Comeback Kid, Dopamines, Gatorface, The Sainte Catherines, Sundowner, Hollowpoints, Street Dogs, and a record that got no recognition from any of these lists The Casting Out!!!
thepopeofchili-town (January 10, 2011)
I like that the staff list was more diverse, but this number one is way, way better than their number one.
tyler92 (January 10, 2011)
Good list surprised that Dopamines, Street Dogs and Arrivals didn't make it.
ughlee (January 10, 2011)
Except for the conspicuous absence of the Arrivals, this is a pretty good list. Gaslight Anthem best? Me thinks not, but I guess that fail-proof math I keep hearing about has something to do with that.
RedScare (January 10, 2011)
Pretty good list. It would appear that the community's tastes weren't all that different from those all-controlling editors in their virtual ivory towers...as some of you would suggest!
jplunk (January 10, 2011)
That list is pretty good, but that new Crime In Stereo CD was the biggest piece of shit I have heard in a while. Almost worse than bands like Three Days Grace. Almost.
StraightToHell82 (January 10, 2011)
Alright... uh... I'll post mine!
Sundowning10 (January 10, 2011)
Great fucking list...surprised the Balance and Composure/Tigers Jaw split wasn't on there
froggerwithmylife (January 10, 2011)
Street Dogs where are you????? Yeah the Gaslight anthem record was pretty good. Could not care less for Iron Chic
scorpiondeathlock (January 10, 2011)
is that alk3 album really worth listening to? i havent really liked anything post from here to infaramry.
whatchokesbegin (January 10, 2011)
This is a very expected, but still very good list, minus a few critical issues:
punk_rawk_show (January 10, 2011)
Im heading to California for a week in late Feburary and would like to see a few bands play, but have failed so far at finding a cali gig guide on the net.
makeshifty (January 10, 2011)
Better, but why does the user rating stars on the reviews differ from whats here?
dingbat (January 10, 2011)
Nice. Only big difference between this and mine personally, is the lack of Black Breath. God damn it, I love that record.
jimmynorville (January 10, 2011)
I've been meaning to get into Leatherface and I just went to their profile and am now listening to their album and its really good.
ReelBigMike (January 10, 2011)
No Wonder Years - The Upsides? I'm shocked.
Whats_Wrong_With_The_Kids (January 10, 2011)
dopamines, rumspringer, tiltwheel and the arrivals didn't make it. Come on guys! also, the Dead To Me EP was pretty good, how did that not make it.
dev (January 10, 2011)
I don't see the unexpected records. I do think it's missing The Hold Steady though.
Scruffy (January 10, 2011)
One album I haven't heard anyone talk about that is easily in my top ten:
Blackjaw_ (January 10, 2011)
1. Bars Of Gold - Of Gold
allbutone (January 10, 2011)
There is an extreme lack of the Stephen Egerton record on all of these lists. For shame.
GlassPipeMurder (January 11, 2011)
i don't have time to read through all the comments, but i'd like to say that apparently more people need to listen to the Arrivals' new record.
teaessare (January 11, 2011)
Iron Chic is number 4 and it didn't even place on the editor's list. Happy to see them get SOME recognition for what in my opinion is an important record.
cuffer (January 11, 2011)
Hmmmm well after last year having so many great albums, there's only two albums I really like this year: The Dopamines-Expect the Worst and Rumspringer- Empty Towers.
pito (January 11, 2011)
I just don't get how people can get excited for the Metzinger... i just don't get it
Sliced-T (January 11, 2011)
Now where have I seen that couch before?
jimlucky (January 11, 2011)
my favourite records of 2010...read on:
melbournevic (January 11, 2011)
I would have bet buttsweat and tears would have been in the top 10...
RisingSun (January 11, 2011)
I already know the number one of 2011!
ReducerSF (January 11, 2011)
It wasn't a year of good releases to me, actually, so I will stick with these 2:
superskabro (January 11, 2011)
Had the lazy fucks at this site taken the time to post one of the SEVERAL submitted Dopamines' reviews, I'm sure that the album would have scored really high on here. LAZY FUCKS, I TELL YA!
bakedtoast (January 11, 2011)
Get American Slang outta there. Why isn't Of Misery and Toil on this list!
FLHC (January 11, 2011)
Awesome that Down to Nothing made it on the 7" list.
wallrock (January 11, 2011)
The only album from my top ten that's not listed somewhere here is Two Cow Garage's Sweet Saint Me, but that may be due to it not being reviewed yet.
ConnorFitz (January 11, 2011)
If you haven't checked #4 out yet, you should probably go here and download Iron Chic's Not Like This for free/donation based download here : http://ironchic.bandcamp.com/album/not-like-this . It's pure gold and it's free. Dig it
SlackMFr (January 11, 2011)
No Superchunk means not a legit list. Open your fucking ears to a solid album with no filler. NO filler.
paulinaaasaid (January 12, 2011)
Yay! I'm so glad Off With their Heads is on this list. In Desolation is amazing. |
