Alex Bars, guitarist of The Receiving End of Sirens was injured over the weekend in a fall. The band had this to say:

We are writing to bring you up to speed on an unfortunate incident that took place this past Friday. In a freak accident, Alex Bars (Vocals/Guitar), tripped and fell about 11 feet down a flight of stairs. After a fairly long emergency room stay, he was diagnosed with a fractured left scapula (shoulder blade), three fractured ribs, a punctured lung, and a few damaged vertebrae. As you can imagine, our entire band has been pretty shaken up this entire weekend. On the bright side, we are happy to have our friend/band mate still alive, and very thankful he avoided being paralyzed, or anything more serious for that matter.

As for The Receiving End of Sirens, we have decided not to cancel any of our upcoming headlining shows for "The New Hope Tour." Even though we will undoubtedly feel incomplete, we refuse to let down our friends, fans, promoters, clubs, and most importantly Alex. At this point, how large of a role Alex will be able to play in the first shows is still undetermined. We appreciate your support and understanding!"

The band is supporting their debut full-length, the Triple Crown-issued Between the Heart and the Synapse on a headlining tour set to begin later this month.
