Carbon Copy Media group Signal Home have contacted Punknews.org with a statement in relation to the recent update in the legal battle between Victory Records, and Hawthorne Heights. Signal Home guitarist/vocalist Troy Messerall sent us the following statement about the current situation:

We would just like everyone to know that we are in no way upset about the Carbon Copy Media/Victory Records situation and that we are behind the label 100%. In the statement from Victory Records, it said that Carbon Copy's decisions may have ruined our "careers". However, since day one of this band we've never considered our passion for writing music a "career", but instead, a blessing and an opportunity that we take very seriously.

Since our signing with the label, JT and Mark have become great friends more than business partners. We chose Carbon Copy because we saw eye to eye on work ethics, touring, and most importantly, our music. They believe in what we are doing, and for that we are extremely thankful to have them as our friends. JT has gone out of his way to get us spots on some of the Hawthorne Heights shows, thus giving our band a little more exposure. He knows what its like to be in our situation as a young band, having started in the same way himself. Mark has also been there for us whenever we had a question concerning business or needed ANYTHING to help the future of this band look hopeful. We do our best to manage our own band, and to book our own shows, but when we don't know which path to take, JT and Mark have been our eyes in ears and have always lent us a helping hand in the right direction.

Last year, the band released their Carbon Copy Media debut, A Fragile Constitution.

When we signed to Carbon Copy, our goal was to release an album, tour as much as possible, meet new people and bands, and have an awesome time doing it. In that respect, we and the label have been very successful. Even with all the current lawsuits and what appears to "career-threatening" circumstances, we're still writing music, playing shows, and loving it. In the end, that's all that matters.

Stay warm and give hope,

Troy & Signal Home
