Umea, Sweden's (International) Noise Conspiracy have posted another update from the studio. The band is recording with famed producer Rick Rubin (Johnny Cash, Slayer, Rage Against The Machine).

So, we've been in LA for almost 3 weeks now, working hard. Sitting up at Rick's house finishing off the last of the overdubs, we managed to crank out 17 songs and on sunday all the overdubs and stuff will be done. Early April we will start with the vocals and hopefully we will be done with everything pretty soon. It is really exciting, the band is in a good spot, creatively and personally and this has been one of the most fun recording ever.

The band released Armed Love in 2005. The album, also produced by Rubin, had a troubled release in North America as it remained shelved for months due to a distribution-related issues at their US label American Recordings.

Our plan is probably to have 12 or 14 songs on the record and some of our favorites right now are; The Assassination Of Myself, Arm Yourself, Hiroshima Mon Amour, Child of God and Washington Bullets (not the Clash song). We also managed to record a 1.20 long song of punkmadness called Into The Heart Of the Spectacle and a 8 minute psychedelic jam called The Cross Of My Calling that we really like. This is the most varied bunch of songs we ever recorded but it still feels like the most focused album we have ever made; it is loud, angry and positive, and full of good tunes.

Other news are that Ungdomshuset in Copenhagen in Denmark got torn down the other week. It is kind of upsetting that a place that has been a safe haven for radical politics and punk rock music got sold out by the Danish government. They arrested over 700 people out of who many are our friends, and they need support so do support them.
