Strokes, Libertines, Primal Scream voted “Best of the Decade” by NME

The Strokes
by Aubin Paul 16 years ago

It's November and the end of the decade, so the "Best of a Decade" lists are starting to come in. The first comes from the hype-masters at NME who have named The Strokes' Is This It? The Libertines' Up the Bracket and Primal Scream's XTRMNTR as the first, second and third best of the decade. The list was chosen by bands such as Radiohead and Arctic Monkeys, plus record producers and label bosses.

Rounding out the top ten were Arctic Monkeys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, PJ Harvey, Arcade Fire, Interpol, The Streets and Radiohead's In Rainbows.

The full list will be printed in the magazine this week. Check out the BBC report here.
