With their first ever SXSW appearance planned at the Van's Showcase at Emo's Main Room on March 16, Bad Brains have spoken about the show as well as their plans for the new year. The full lineup of the band has been in New York working on new material for an expected summer 2011 release on Megaforce Records.

Bassist Darryl Jenifer said this:

There should be a SXSW in every city, every day. Austin is a great music town with positive vibes. Stand by for the 'realest' we have ever written,

The band released Build a Nation in 2007.
