Metallica and Lou Reed: “Iced Honey” and “White Light/White Heat”

Metallica and Lou Reed: "Iced Honey" and "White Light/White Heat"
by Aubin Paul Television 14 years ago

The controversial and hated by cats collaboration from Lou Reed of Velvet Underground and Metallica recently appeared on The BBC's Later with Jools Holland. The band performed two tracks: the first was Iced Honey from their album together Lulu and a Velvet Underground classic, ""White Light/White Heat."

The record has created such an uproar that some Metallica fans threatened Reed's life. Reed for his part noted:

I don't have any fans left. After Metal Machine Music (1975), they all fled. Who cares? I'm essentially in this for the fun of it.
