The first handful of bands for the 2012 edition of the S.C.E.N.E. Music Festival have been announced. The St. Catharines Event for New Music Entertainment will again bring a number of punk, hardcore, metal and hip hop acts to the Niagara region this summer. The Planet Smashers, Said The Whale, Wooden Sky, Down With Webster, Structures, and Counterparts have been confirmed for the event. More than 150 bands will be announced by the time the show is upon us.

S.C.E.N.E. will take place on Sunday, June 24th. Punknews.org is one of the event's sponsors this year so check back soon for contests and more. Update: The lineup has been adjusted to reflect changes in the initially announced list.
