As the album itself reaches voting age, Green Day has announced plans to play their 1994 breakthrough Dookie in its entirety. It's still hard to believe that an album named after poop, by a band named after marijuana use and featuring a single about masturbation would go on to sell 16 million copies and lead to one of the biggest bands in punk - and music in general.

The band unveiled the plans in a BBC Radio 1 interview that the band performed to promote their upcoming appearance at the Reading Festival. As far as we know, there are no plans to repeat the full album performance elsewhere, though the band has been doing a variety of things in anticipation of their next album triology including promising 3000 tour dates, launching a Facebook game, releasing a new box set, putting together documentaries and joining The Voice.
