Paul Simonon, famed bassist of The Clash, celebrated his 60th birthday by playing a surprise gig on Sunday night. For the gig, he played with Damon Albarn, Noel Gallagher and Chrissy Hynde. The band played a number of Clash and Clash-related tunes as well as some songs by The Good, the Bad and the Queen, the band which includes both Albarn and Simonon. Clash and Clash-related songs that the group played included "Guns of Brixton," "Brand New Cadillac," "Pressure Drop," "I Fought the Law" and "Janie Jones." Chriss Hynde handled vocals for all the Clash cuts except, of course, for "Guns of Brixton."
