According to 9to5Mac, Apple has been granted a patent for an infrared technology that could block iPhones' ability to capture photos or record video at live music events, among other scenarios. By transmitting an infrared signal from the stage, cameras attempting to record a performance would be disabled by the signal, as shown in the diagram above.
