The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its inductees for 2017. Groups that made the cut include Pearl Jam, Tupac Shakur, Journey, Yes, Electric Light Orchestra and Joan Baez. Nile Rodgers of Chic will be awarded the "Musical Excellence Award". However, Chic, despite 11 nominations, is still not inducted. Notably, despite being nominated, neither Bad Brains nor MC5 made the cut. Other groups that were nominated but not inducted include Kraftwerk, Chic, Jane's Addiction, Janet Jackson, Chaka Khan, Depeche Mode, Joe Tex, Steppenwolf, the Cars, and the Zombies.
