After a few different runs for office, Joe Keithley of D.O.A. has been elected to Burnaby City Council in British Columbia. As a member of the Green Party, Keithley broke the monopoly that was previously held by the Burnaby Citizens Association political party. The council is now 7 incumbent BCA members and newcomer Keithley who is Burnaby city council's first ever Green Party member. Keithley stated, " “I think people realized the Greens have a collaborative approach. It’s part of being a Green. You’ve got to work with whoever you can and try and change things.”
