It seemed like just yesterday we were posting a story about Mates Of State releasing a music video for their song "Ha Ha." Okay, actually it was on November 13th, but still. Anyway, the Mates have released another video off their dynamite third album Team Boo, this time for the song "Fluke." Drummer Jason wrote the following about the video:
"Fluke was done by the famous director G.J. Echternkamp. Get all his stuff. We had never heard of him either, until he started stalking us, saying he had to make a video of us. We were flattered….and then skeptical…and then frightened when we he wouldn't quit with the persistence. So, we invited him to our house, bought him a croissant, and he set up all his gear. He made me carry a television set (at gunpoint) to Radio Shack, insisting the sales people wouldn't understand unless we showed them what kind of TV it was. He was right. I then understood the depth of his understanding of the film medium. He showed us a clip of some of his other work (where we later copped an idea pertaining to Mexican wrestling masks) and we were sold. I went out and bought all of his stuff. He edited this mo-fo to Fluke. It's good. G.J. for prez."
The video [as well as their earlier "Ha Ha" video] is available for download in Quicktime and Windows Media formats here. Not ones to rest on their laurels, the band has also said that a third video, this one for "Gotta Get A Problem," is in the works and should be completed soon. Keep checking their webpage for updates.
