Rolling Stones readers pick “Best Punk Band”

Green Day
Via an Anonymous Source, Posted by Aubin Paul Warner Music Group 14 years ago

Rolling Stone recently asked readers to vote on the "Best Punk Band of All Time." The list includes (in order) Bad Brains, Social Distortion, The Misfits, Black Flag, The Stooges, Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, Ramones and The Clash. Coming out on top in a completely uncontroversial result was Green Day. Even the magazine notes that part of the boost came from the fact that both Green Day's official site and fan site asked fans to vote in the poll.

Check out the list here.
