Strung Out has released a teaser video to announce their eighth studio album. The album will be titled Transmission Alpha Delta and is set to be released March 2015 on Fat Wreck Chords. Strung Out's last release was Top Contenders: The Best of Strung Out in 2011.

Fucked Up have released a new song called "Voce Rubata." Interestingly, the song is 17 minutes long and is composed mostly of classical piano and operatic vocals. In fact, the track is recorded in conjunction with members of the Canadian Opera Company. There's no word on when, or even if, the track will see physical release, but the band is streaming it via their Canadian record label, Arts & Crafts.

Have Mercy and Somos have announced a split due out February 24, 2015 on No Sleep Records. The first song off of the split, a cover of Jackson Browne's "Somebody's Baby" by Have Mercy, premiered on Alternative Press earlier today. You can pre-order the four track split here. Along with the announcement, a list of tour dates for Have Mercy was released.

The folks at the Toronto-based POPPUNKSNOTDEAD have released their third annual holiday compilation. Titled Something to Write Santa About, the comp features bands from the UK (High Hopes, Next Stop Atlanta, All Things Considered), USA (The Appreciation Post, The Forty-Eight, Split The D, Jarrod Alonge), Canada (Colour Me Alive) and Malaysia (An Honest Mistake).

Choke Up have released the first song off of their upcoming LP, Black Coffee, Bad Habits, on Black Numbers. The song, "Thicket and Vine," made its debut on Brooklyn Vegan earlier this week. Choke Up's freshman LP will be out February 3, 2015.

Murder By Death have released two Christmas cover songs as a gift to their Kickstarter campaign backers. The campaign was successfully funded on December 5, 2014. The songs were released on Bandcamp on December 10, 2014.
